MORALS

Objectives

1. Meaning of ethics

2. Know the meaning of moral erosion

3. Identify the causes of moral erosion

4. Know ways to solve moral erosion

Morals are teachings that are given in various positions, especially in education, in order to direct a human being to act in a way that will build him and the whole society. The values required of all people are basically the same, but circumstances may demand that they be implemented in slightly different ways. Along with that, people since ancient times have given values in a special way according to religion, culture, philosophy, etc.

Moral erosion Erosion of values is a state of violation of the values of a certain society. The erosion of morals has spread more rapidly, to the young than to the old, all because of the following sources. 1. Globalization: that is a state of change in various aspects of human life, such as politics, economy, etc. to have one similarity. But these changes have greatly contributed to the collapse of morals, as young people have become people who imitate the lives of people from other countries, for example, they imitate the style of clothing. Most of the clothes of these times are clothes that degrade morals. 2. Technology: the spread of technology and communication facilitated through various types of social networks has been a challenge for young people. They have been spending a lot of time browsing the internet and following the news of artists that do not concern them at all. But young people have also been able to engage in acts of rape, due to sexual images or videos that are shown or downloaded on some networks and viewed by young people, so technology has also contributed significantly to the decline of young people's morals. 3. Parents not fulfilling their responsibilities: many parents do not monitor their children: they leave home in the morning and come back at night to find them sleeping, but these children may be tempted to buy laptops and smart phones, where they may lose their morals until they grow up because they are like a fish that was not wrapped while still fresh. 4. Peer groups: peers are people who are the same age or close to each other; A peer can be a friend, neighbor or even a classmate. Those groups at that time have to be looked at with a third eye, because they talk more about sex, unlike in the past where those groups used to consult about love, equality, justice and how to be independent in their families. Young man, look at what your friend is advising you. he advises you to study hard, or develop yourself economically and get a legitimate income or he advises you to have many girls or many men, choose the right friend who will lead you to a good and successful development

Suggested ways to solve the erosion of morals especially among young people are as follows: • educate on the correct use of social networks • providing education to parents on the best way to raise children • impose penalties on those who break the law or do immoral things • to give motivation to religious institutions on the emphasis on morals and upbringing of children • encourage young people to be self-employed to avoid misuse of time
